The Occupational English Test (OET) is a specialised English language exam developed by Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment — designed exclusively for healthcare professionals. OET Writing is where most candidates fail — particularly the referral letter. Dr Ahmed's profession-specific writing frameworks, built around real clinical case studies, move students from Grade C to Grade A in weeks, not months.
Most major healthcare regulators require Grade A (350+) in all four sub-tests. There is NO compensation — a Grade A in three sub-tests cannot offset a Grade C in one. Dr Ahmed coaches to the Grade A standard across all four.
NMC accepts Grade C+ (300+) in Writing provided all other three sub-tests reach Grade A (350+). This is the only major UK body that allows one C+. GMC and GPhC require Grade A in all four sub-tests without exception.
AHPRA requires Grade A (350+) in every sub-test for nurses, doctors, dentists, pharmacists and all registered health practitioners. As of August 2025, AHPRA now expresses OET scores numerically.
GMC requires Grade A (350+) in all four sub-tests in a single sitting. GPhC and GDC have the same requirement. There is no combining scores from different sittings for these bodies.
New Zealand Nursing Council, UAE's DHA and HAAD, Ireland's NMBI and most other global healthcare regulators accept OET and require Grade A in all four sub-tests.
