Listening
Audio of a healthcare professional consulting with a patient. Complete a form (Part A) and answer questions on talks (Parts B & C).
Achieve Grade B in all four sub-tests and unlock registration with AHPRA, NMC, GMC and every major healthcare regulatory body — with Dr Ahmed's specialist OET coaching.
The Occupational English Test (OET) is a specialised English language exam developed by Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment — designed exclusively for healthcare professionals. Unlike IELTS or PTE, every task in the OET is set in a real clinical context: patient consultations, case notes, referral letters and medical discussions.
Accepted in 40+ countries by major regulatory bodies including AHPRA (Australia), NMC and GMC (UK), NZNC (New Zealand) and HCPC — and taken by over 50,000 healthcare workers every year, OET is the gold standard for demonstrating clinical communication ability.
Every OET task is set in a clinical scenario relevant to your profession. Dr Ahmed's coaching uses real-world medical case studies, consultation scripts and referral letter frameworks throughout.

Clinical texts, research articles and healthcare guidelines in three progressively complex parts.
Write a referral letter — the most profession-specific and challenging sub-test. Graded on purpose, content, conciseness, layout, language and presentation.
Two 5-minute patient consultation roleplays with an interlocutor. Assessed on communication, language and clinical clarity.
OET Writing is where most candidates fail — particularly the referral letter. Dr Ahmed's profession-specific writing frameworks, built around real clinical case studies, move students from Grade C to Grade B in weeks, not months.
Most major healthcare regulators require Grade B (350+) in all four sub-tests. There is NO compensation — a Grade A in three sub-tests cannot offset a Grade C in one. Dr Ahmed coaches to the Grade B standard across all four.
NMC accepts Grade C+ (300+) in Writing provided all other three sub-tests reach Grade B (350+). This is the only major UK body that allows one C+. GMC and GPhC require Grade B in all four sub-tests without exception.
AHPRA requires Grade B (350+) in every sub-test for nurses, doctors, dentists, pharmacists and all registered health practitioners. As of August 2025, AHPRA now expresses OET scores numerically.
GMC requires Grade B (350+) in all four sub-tests in a single sitting. GPhC and GDC have the same requirement. There is no combining scores from different sittings for these bodies.
New Zealand Nursing Council, UAE's DHA and HAAD, Ireland's NMBI and most other global healthcare regulators accept OET and require Grade B in all four sub-tests.
Understanding the OET scoring scale — scores range from 0 to 500 per sub-test and map to letter grades from A to E.
| Grade | Score Range | CEFR | NMC UK | GMC / AHPRA |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | 450–500 | C2 | ✓ | ✓ |
| B | 350–440 | C1 | ✓ | ✓ Required |
| C+ | 300–340 | B2+ | ⚠ Writing only | ✗ Not accepted |

| D | 200–240 | B1 | ✗ | ✗ |

⚠ NMC UK accepts C+ in Writing only — all other sub-tests must reach Grade B. All other major regulators require Grade B in every sub-test. No compensation between sub-tests.
OET is available for 12 healthcare professions — each with profession-specific content throughout. Dr Ahmed coaches to your exact professional context.
